The Foundation of Japan Information Center

In 2005 the memorandum of Japan Information Center at OSU was signed by the representatives of Orenburg Region Government, Orenburg State University and Japan Center in Nizhny Novgorod. The Parties noticed the interest of business community, academic and educational institutions in Orenburg Region in promotion of economic, scientific and cultural cooperation with Japan as well as the interest from Japanese companies to expand business activity in Russia.

The main aim of Japan Information Center foundation at OSU is the development of economic, scientific and cultural cooperation, promoting various aspects of the relationship between Russia and Japan in business and economics, science and education and culture.

Japan Information Center provides the cooperation with Japanese universities and academic institutions. The main purpose of the Center is promoting academic exchange and mobility, organization of training courses for students and teachers, as well as conducting of Russian-Japanese scientific conferences and seminars. Japan Information Center cooperates with the Embassy of Japan in Russia, Hiroshima University, Ehime University Japan Foundation, Japan-Russian Youth Exchange Center, Russian public organization “Society “Russia-Japan” and others.

Japan Information Center supports the cooperation between Russian and Japanese companies, disseminates the information on various activities aimed to promote trade and investment between Japan and Russia, provides selection of potential partners, arranging meetings and business visits for academic and commercial negotiations, consulting, business agency, comprehensive assistance for the development of business contacts. Japan Information Center organizes Japanese language courses, Japanese literature study, as well as the study of Japanese culture and traditions.
