Universiade Torch in Orenburg!

On the 16th of June Orenburg picked up the torch of 27th World Summer Universiade.

Orenburg was the 29th Russian city, where relay race was held. The relay''s route in Orenburg became the longest among Russian cities. 120 Orenburg inhabitants ran up the main streets for thirty-two kilometers. Among them was Evgeniy Arapov — Head of Orenburg administration, as well as students with sport, educational and social advances, volunteers, prominent public figures, representatives of the city management. Students and lecturers of OSU were in the forefront.

The relay finished on the square near the Town-History Museum. Yury Berg — Governor of Orenburg region lighted the Olympic cauldron. Then the fire for keeping was transferred to Vladimir Kovalevskiy — OSU Rector, Chairman of Rectors Soviet in Orenburg region. On the 17th of June the Olympic fire was accessible for everybody.
