The festival “Many-sided Germany” helps to learn more about country of Goethe, Beethoven and Bach. It was started on the 7th of April in OSU. The author of the idea was the team of Oberwolfach Mathematical Research Studies Institute (Germany).

The exhibition presents unusual pictures embodying beauty and grace of the all sciences queen. Since 2008 more than half a million people from Europe, USA and seven Russian cities visited the exhibition. Orenburg inhabitants will be able not only to see works of mathematical arts, but also to create their own masterpiecesš— display pictures from mathematical formulas. The exposition is created for adults and children of 12šyears old and more.

— Many people consider that mathematics is boring subject and dislike complicated formulas. Today Orenburg inhabitants have the opportunity to ensure personally that the queen of sciences can be interesting,š— Andreas Gebert told.

He showed to the audience one of the exhibition programsš— Surferš— aimed to display material algebraic geometry in real-time mode.

That day the representative of German Embassy had a meeting with OSU Rector Vladimir Kovalevskiy. Andreas Gebert thanked OSU Rector for the help in exhibition organization and noted that interest in German language and culture of Orenburg inhabitants is very important for Germany Embassy in Moscow. Besides he reminded that Year 2014 is declared at the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel as the bilateral year of German language and literature in Russia and Russian language and literature in Germany.
