“Fearful” Workshop

The OSU representatives took part in the international workshop “Awful geography” which was held in Lisbon (Portugal) on the 14–16th of May.

The assistant professor of OSU Geography and Regional Studies Department Alexey Lybichankovskiy and Aleksandr Mikhailovš— 5-year student of Economics and Management Faculty acted as experts in the sphere of antiterrorist activity with “terrorism geography” report on the workshop. The representatives of Orenburg State University were the only participants from Russian Federation.

They have presented the analysis of distribution pattern of terrorist danger around the world, interpreted the terrorism understanding through ethnogenesis conception of L.N.šGumilev in the report. OSU experts had also estimated the interrelation between the main terrorist centers and introduced a variety of humanitarian arrangements, which realization could support solving not the consequences, but the reasons of this occurrence.

The total number of reports was more than 30š— from Canada, Great Britain, Belgium, Poland, Australia and others countries. All papers were connected with place fixation of wonder, fear, horror, war and terrorism in space as well as planetary geography of disasters and sorrow places.
