Next goal is to read “The Captain's Daughter” in all world languages

A remarkable event took place at the monument to Petr Rychkov. OSU students recited Alexander Pushkin's “The Captain's Daughter” in twelve languages.
“World Heritage of the Orenburg regionš— Alexander Pushkin's masterpiece in the languages of the festival” dedicated to the 20thšWorld Festival of Youth and Students, which was held for the first time, promises to become a good tradition for OSU students.
Ekaterina Borodulina, the third year student of the Institute of Management declaimed the first extract of the historical novel. Her great-grandmother Theodosia Shkayeva also participated in the 6thšWorld Festival of Youth and Students inš1957. Ekaterina shared her great-grandmother's memories of this event: in the company of other students she got the capital city ready for the arrival of guests from all over the world. She remembered the iron curtain opening slightly to let in-vogue sneakers and rock-n-roll stream into the country.
The novel sounded in Chinese, English, Arabic, Farsi, Portuguese, Spanish, German and Indonesian.
The event’s organizers keep on receiving the videos of people reciting the novel in Czech, Turkmen, Afghan and other languages.
