Our people in China
OSU students as members of the Orenburg delegation took part in the IV Russian-Chinese Youth Forum “Volga-Yangtze. Charming Anhui”, which was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China and held in Hefei, the capital city of Anhui Province (China) to promote the development of friendly relations between Chinese and Russian youth.
The forum hosted about 160 Russian students from all regions of the Volga region and 180 Chinese students from six regions of the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River. Ten activists, including four OSU students and course participants of OSU Chinese Language and Culture Centre, represented the Orenburg region.
A multitude of discussion platforms enabled participants to pay a particular attention to the problems of cultural identity preservation in Russia and China, as well as to the role of the young people in cultural exchange.
The 2-Week Forum Program was eventful. Its participants got acquainted with the technological achievements of Anhui Province: they paid visits to the main Hefei universities that participate in the National Education Quality Programs, the main National Fire Laboratory at the University of Science and Technology of China(USTC), USTC Advanced Technology Research Institute, IFLYTEK high-tech innovative Co., Ltd. and a platform for students innovation and entrepreneurship.
