A solemn meeting dedicated to the 90^th anniversary of Leonid Iosifovich Futoryanski, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Honored worker of Science of the Russian Federation, veteran of the Great Patriotic War was held at OSU.

On May 6, one of the most prominent historians of the Orenburg region turned 90. He devoted 65 years to scientific and pedagogical activities. The scientist, whose name is associated with major achievements in writing the history of the Russian Cossacks, the revolution and civil war in the South Urals, published more than 600 scientific papers on the history of the Orenburg region.
