Georgy Nigmatulin, OSU student, took part in Japan-Russia Youth Forum hold through Novemberš26š— Decemberš4 in the city of Matsumoto, Japan.

The event took place at Shinshu University (Matsumoto). The Forum organizers from the Russian side were the RF Ministry of Education and Science, MIREA “Russian Technological University” and and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and Japan-Russia Youth Exchange Center from the Japanese side. The forum gathered about 60šuniversity students and leaders of youth non-commercial organisations at the aged ofš18 to 30šfrom Russia and Japan.

The program of the Forum was very eventful. At first the participants had a brainstorm discussion on how universities of Japan and Russia can contribute to their countries' goals in sustainable development, set by UNO at 2015. They have also discussed what universities can get in return and how to promote the participation of students in these activities. Then they were formed into teams of four, each had to design and present the project of a one-minute TV-commercial telling how to achieve one of the goals of sustainable development. The forum’s participants also had a cultural programš— tours to Tokyo and Takayama.
