On September 30, at the grand inauguration of the Alexander Schmorell’memorial, four Orenburg students got the scholarships. Two of them were OSU students.

Granting scholarships to talented students-translators on the birthday of anti-fascist hero Alexander Smorell has become a tradition. For twenty years, the White Rose Foundation from Munich together with the Orenburg Charitable Found Eurasia, have been providing financial support to students. This year two students of the OSU Faculty of Philology — Elena Barsukova and Anna Charikova — won the scholarship.

The memorial was unveiled on Park Avenue at the entrance to the Orenburg State Medical University campus.
