“Eurasia” Science Town: Dozens of National Flags

International Youth Science Town “Eurasia”

More than 100 students, 88 volunteers, administration, lecturers and staff members of OSU took part in the 1st International Youth Educational Forum "Eurasia" organized in Orenburg from 7th till 11th of September.

On the 7th of September the participants of the First International Youth Educational Forum "Eurasia" have seen the flags of more than fifty countries.

The Science Town was built on the territory of the University. Approximately 200šprojects of OSU young scientists, exhibits of colleagues from other universities and research institutions of Orenburg region and Russia, presentations of universitiesš— OSU partners and many art objects were represented there. The first guestsš— organizers from Moscow, members of Orenburg Region government, employees of Orenburg Ministry for Education, Rectors of Orenburg universities, as well as young peopleš— participants of "Eurasia" Forum entered the Science Town through the two-meter gate forming "EURASIA" word. The Main Federal Inspector of Orenburg Region Sergey Gavrilin and the assistant of authorized representative of Russian President in Volga Federal District Vladimir Kolchin visited the Science Town in the second half of the day.

Transformation of solar energy is well performing on Energetika (Energy) Street. "Autonomous Solar Power Station" (ASPS) of OSU Master’s student Aleksandr Nemaltsev have generated 4škW of clean energy which was enough for laptop operation and phone charging of forum member from St.šPetersburg.

The interesting ideas of OSU students of Architectural and Construction Faculty were presented on Stroitelnaya (Constructive) Streetš— modern energy saving technologies for construction industry of the region.

On Samoletnaya (Aircraft) Street the guests saw 3D-models of wing tips for long-distance aircrafts created by youth scientists of OSU Aircraft Department. The near hand Gallery of Taste represented inventions of Faculty for Applied Biotechnology and Engineering. Perhaps, it became the most popular in the Science Town, because it was possible to try eatable projects!

Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Surgut, Yoshkar-Ola, Kharkov, Koblenz, New Delhi… Forum participants from different corners of the world wrote the names of native cities on Tvorcheskaya Street of the Science Town. Right there they could make face paintings. Many asked to draw the flag of Russia. Young artists draw amusing caricatures of forum participants and gifted for memory.

Nano-park is crowdy. It is especially attractive for girls — exhibiting cosmetics which were as qualitative as production of world brands. The longest University Street connected more than 15šuniversities and scientific laboratories from all Eurasian space in big white tents presenting own research and development projects. The students of Hiroshima University (Japan)š— OSU partner received the largest audience; they told about national traditions and organized colorful photo shoots with everyone. The representatives of Kymenlaakso University of Applied Sciences (Finland) presented double-diploma program for OSU students.

On the city post office the students sent cards with pictures of OSU Library in all directions of Russia. They wrote to friendsš— "Greetings from the center of Youth Educational Forum!"

The Forum was continued in “Armada” congress hall. Svetlana Pankovaš— Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Acting Rector of Orenburg State University participated in the panel discussion “Development of Education in Russia”.

OSU took part in presentations exhibition of educational projects and programs of Russian universities from Orenburg, Moscow, Ekaterinburg, Samara, Volgograd and Bashkortostan (over 15šinstitutions). The event was organized mainly for foreign visitors came from 60švarious countries.

And it has brought results: the representatives of many cities of Russia and different countries became interested in the projects of young scientists. Participation of Russian universities in the presentation fair of educational projects and s became important for us: academic mobility at international level gives an opportunity for experience exchange and improve quality of education. This companionship unites young people from different countries and works on improvement of mutual understanding between people and cultures.
