Russian Culture’s Enthusiast from Japan

On the 10^th of January Akira Marusima — Japanese language Lecturer from Japan-Russia Youth Exchange Center visited OSU. Now he is working at Pedagogical Institute of Pacific National University within the program of academic exchange.

Akira is interesting in the history and culture of our country, that’s why he has determined some interesting cities for visiting during the holidays: Orenburg, Kazan, Saratov, Saint-Petersburg, Sochi and Moscow.

In Orenburg the guest met with Head of International Cooperation Administration Eduard Yasakov and Director of Japan Information Center Lyudmila Dokashenko. University’s representatives told the visitor about exchange program between Russia and Japan, about long-term friendly relations between OSU and educational, state institutions of Land of the Rising Sun. Over 150 Japanese guests have visited university for the last 5 years. Also Akira Marusima has learned about development of Russian-Japanese cooperation. Every year our university organizes Days of Japan event that includes: festival of Japanese movies, workshops, business-seminars and many others events.
