Zhanna Ermakova, OSU rector participated in the I Forum of rectors of Russia and Kyrgyzstan “Development of Science and Education — Investments in the Future”.

The forum took place in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan on the eve of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin visit to the country. It gathered rectors from leading Russian (40) and Kyrgyz (31) universities. The delegation from the Russian Federation was headed by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Mikhail Kotyukov. The largest university from the Orenburg region was represented by Zhanna Ermakova, OSU rector and Liudmila Dokashenko, Director of OSU Department of International Cooperation and Education Development.

The forum was to find new effective forms of Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation in education and research.

“14 agreements were signed during the plenary sessions of the forum. And 4 of them are between OSU and Kyrgyz universities — notes Zhanna Ermakova. — It is the crowning of a long and intensive preparatory work before the visit to Kyrgyzstan”. The agreements provide a wide spectrum of collaborative activities like scientific conferencing, project work, academic exchange and upgrading. The plans are also to organize Summer schools, on-line lectures and training programs.
